Friday Plot Swap~ Valentine's Style

Dawn's Plot Swap

Have a plot? Leave one

Need a plot ? Take one

Happy Valentine's Day!

Could you make something sweet and romantic out of these?

Nothing really says, "I love you more than life itself." like nasty, hissing insects!

How you doin'?

I can totally imagine a scene with a woman crying to her friends,
"He named a ROACH after me!"

Seniors get their groove on at Valentine’s Dance

The interesting part of this story is that organizers brought in "20-something" rookie football players to make sure there were no wallflowers.
Perfect set up for a young woman who had to take Grandpa to the local dance and met the man of her dreams... Who hopefully still had his own teeth!
Especially if her grandpa was like this guy!

Friday Plot Swap~ Solid Gold Style

Friday Plot Swap

Dawn's Plot Swap

Have a plot? Leave one.

Need a plot ? Take one.

Have I got a story for you this week!
Can it be a coincidence both of the stories came out within days of  each other?
I think not.
This just begs to written

That could be an awesome story alone. Think of all the people who have to be planning and scheming how to steal even just a little of this money right now!
But, then you have to read this!

You know who is plotting to steal it?
THOSE PEOPLE! Right?

What a great plot!

Think of these characters:
  • The reluctant thief who is only involved because he/she plans to use the loot to do something noble.
  • The daughter of a former thief who wants to pull of a heist to shed doubt on her father's conviction.
  • ooh, even better, the daughter of an former thief who infiltrates her father's old crew to pull off the heist and leave them hanging just like they did her dad.
  • The police officer who just knows the tunnel robbers are going to make a move on the gold and wants to be ready for them.
I could do this all day!
What do you got?

Friday Plot Swap~Love gone wrong style

Dawn's Plot Swap

I knew I was going to use this first one the moment I saw it.
This screams mystery to me. Who is the woman? Why did the man feel the need to be "dead" to be away from her? The woman found out when she went to his former house. Can you imagine that conversation?

Maybe he needs to take a hint from this guy?

Mystery Man Spells Out Heartbreak on His Van

First of all, Dude, WHAT DID YOU DO?!?! Second, what makes  you think "Linda" is going to see your random van? Lastly, how is she supposed to respond? Throw herself on the hood?
I could see this working for a sweet, light romance or a creepy, stalker thriller.

Speaking of creepy, stalker stuff

Woman Finds Ex-Boyfriend Living In Her Attic.

Oh, the places you could go with this one. The article has details about how he was living up there and the fact he was staring at her through the ceiling vents.

So, Swap with me!!! What could make of these? Heard any other good plots lately?

Men, Mice and Whiskey

Dawn's Plot Swap
Have a plot? Leave one.
Need a plot ? Take one.

First, I am dying to see what this guy looks like and to know if he is really an actor or if he just thought he was that good . As  a plot, I could see a female bounty hunter trying to prove herself by bringing in a big case. What could you do with this?

Couple tries to visit Disneyland every day for a year

Both were unemployed and decided to use their season passes to "put a smile on our faces instead of sitting at home and being bummed out about being out of work."
This kind of fascinated me. The conflict of dealing with unemployment (or a disintegrating  marriage~which was what came to my mind) in the "Happiest Place on  Earth" could make for some interesting twists.

Oh, the places this one could go. Imagine a time-travel, what if he had put the whiskey there himself when he went to the past so he could find it in the future and know the experience was real? Is your head spinning yet?
Or the beginning of a dual timeline story. The man finds the liquor and his life parallels the life of the man who put it there.

These are my swaps for today. What'd you bring to trade?

Friday Plot Swap~ It's a Jungle Out There!

Dawn's Plot Swap
Have a plot? Leave one.
Need a plot ? Take one.
Let's visit our friends in the animal kingdom.

Does anyone else see a contemporary romance in the making here? If you read the article, you will see they have called in all sorts of experts to "save" this marriage.
Maybe an animal therapist must team up with a cynical caretaker to save a dying species?

First of all, I had NO idea there were so many "psychic" animals used to predict sporting outcomes. Octopus, ferrets, pigs, raccoons... Wow.
What interested me about this article is that it is human psychics pshawing the abilities of the animals. What if a psychic (or not-so-psychic) human was pitted against one of these animals? What if both of their lives depended on the outcome?

And  a bonus for you, since I know you all missed our plot swap last week.

So, swap with me! Got any good animal stories? Or eater-of-household-products-turned-felon stories?
Or just an orphaned plot you think deserves a good home?

Photos, Oh-No, and WHOA!

Dawn's Plot Swap

Happy Friday!

A random garage sale purchase surprises a 13-year-old with a picture of a relative he had never known.

So many different ways you could go with this one!
 Time travel:
The uncle was sending him a message and the camera is really a portal.
Romantic Suspense:
The mother of the 13 year old sees the picture and realizes the girl in the picture is really a powerful person's wife who died under mysterious circumstances, just like her brother.

You can also check out a past post about weird coincidences here.

A Dallas woman has found Neiman Marcus' generous return policy lacking, saying the luxury retailer wouldn't let her return $1.4 million worth of tainted items— many of them gifts her husband purchased from a store employee with whom he was allegedly having an affair.

If this is my story, the personal assistant is totally winding up dead and the wife wrongfully accused, but that's just me. (And, fiction! I wish no ill-will toward this random store employee!)

This lady has class and spunk. She would make an awesome secondary character!

SO, SWAP WITH ME!
What could you make out of these?
What's going on in your WIP?
Heard any good plots lately?

Two Lizards and a Tooth Fairy

Dawn's Plot Swap
Have a plot? Leave one.
Need a plot ? Take one.
It's been a CRAZY week.  Not the  normal," I-am-running-in-sixty-different-directions-and-can't-remember-if-kids-had-shoes-on-when-they-left-for-school" kind of week, but a, "I-am-making-major-life-decisions-and-really-freaked- out" type of crazy.
So, in an odd way, these potential characters made me feel better about my own sanity. No matter how out of hand life gets, I will never offer to bite the head off a lizard.

Doesn't he look like dinner?

Hope they keep him away from the Geico commercials!

Like rawr and stuff....

Nebraska man legally changes name to 'Tyrannosaurus Rex' because it's 'cooler'

What thought process goes into that? I think this man and I would have vastly differing definitions of "Cool".

"I only had three beers.."

Self-proclaimed Texas 'tooth fairy' leads cops on high speed chase.

Um, yeaaah...

So, swap with me! How is everything in your crazy world? Read any good plots lately?

Hugs, Goodwill and Men in the Shower

Dawn's Plot Swap
Have a plot? Leave one.
Need a plot ? Take one.

An Atlanta couple's dreams of the perfect wedding could be in tatters after the would-be groom accidentally gave the engagement ring to Goodwill.
So many ways to go with this! What does the Groom-to-be say to his fiance? What if she isn't "the one" but the sweet girl working at Goodwill who finds the ring and searches him out to return it is?

Coca-Cola's global marketing campaign dubbed "Open Happiness" takes on a new twist with a Coke vending machine that asks passers by to give it a hug.
This is just weird. Don't know exactly what you could do with it as a plot, but I couldn't resist including it.

Yeah, I know. It's pretty doubtful he looked like this. But, what if he wasn't a yucky burglar. When you take the creepiness out of it, there's lot that can be done with finding a man in your shower who has already helped himself to some champagne.

So, swap with me! Read any good plots lately?
