Makeover Monday~ Hair Help, Please!

Makeover Monday

Hair Help, Please!

This is my youngest daughter's hair:

This is after a shower, shampoo and conditioner

After half a bottle of detangler
and 25 minutes of combing:

52 minutes later

What does this have to do with Makeover Monday?

I need to makeover the detangling process!
I know all the tricks:
Start at the bottom
Work in sections
Use lots and lots of patience!

But, I am asking (begging) for suggestions:

Any ideas on how to smooth out this process? (See what I did there?)

Product recommendations?
Homemade remedies?
She has already vetoed chopping it off.

I'm up for anything you've got!

I would suggest that she use a wide-toothed comb in the shower after adding conditioner, but before rinsing it out. It helps to distribute the conditioner and with also help with tangles. Also, using the same comb directly out of the shower after towel drying some of the water out. I have naturally curly hair so I know what a pain it is when it gets all tangled. If that doesn't help, here's a couple links to some homemade detangler recipes: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlreading/curlykids/detangling-curly-kids/homemade-detangler-recipes, http://simplehomemade.net/natural-hair-detanglers/. Hope your situation gets untangled soon!

I'm going to go with "Scissors". But I also like the "comb it out before you rinse out the conditioner" method, if the scissors don't work.

Steph~ Thanks for the suggestion. I hadn't thought of having her comb it in the shower with the conditioner in it. We will definitely try that!

Teri~ She's already said NO to the scissors. :)
